Meet Erin Norris

Erin is a wife, mom, and neighbor who loves this community and believes strong schools are one of Celina’s greatest strengths. She grew up in Celina, graduated from Celina High School, and now her family lives, worships, and homeschools here. She cares deeply about the teachers, staff, and parents who pour into Celina’s kids every day.

Erin has spent years investing in families through church, neighborhood, and community life. She is known for listening first, asking thoughtful questions, and staying calm under pressure. Friends describe her as steady, honest, and willing to do the quiet work behind the scenes that makes a difference over time.

As a parent, Erin wears many hats: homeschool mom teaching her children day in and day out, co‑op director for one of the largest homeschool communities in North Texas, and supporter on the sidelines of her kids’ sports and dance teams. She understands what it feels like to entrust your child to other adults—coaches, instructors, and teachers—and to want clear communication and visibility into what’s happening there.

Erin is not running for school board to climb a political ladder or to fight old battles. She’s running because she believes trustees should be approachable and accountable—people you recognize at the grocery store, who are willing to sit down in your living room and hear what’s on your mind before they vote on big decisions.

Why a Homeschool Mom is Running for School Board

Families in Celina make different schooling choices, but we all share responsibility for our public schools. I walked these halls as a Celina Bobcat and now bring my own kids up here, and I’m running because I want every student in Celina ISD to benefit from safe campuses, clear expectations, and strong academics.

A Different Kind of Leadership

The school board’s primary work is oversight, policy, and accountability—not day‑to‑day management. My experience serving families, reading budgets, and working with leaders in complex settings has taught me to listen first, ask honest questions, and make decisions based on facts, not pressure. As a trustee, I intend to come prepared, seek accurate information, and vote in a way that reflects the long‑term interests of students, parents, and taxpayers.

How Erin Leads

Listening first. Erin believes the most important work of a trustee happens before the vote—listening to parents, students, and staff.

Working with others. One trustee can’t change everything alone. Erin is committed to working respectfully with the current board and superintendent while consistently representing the concerns of families.

Staying grounded. Erin’s faith shapes her personal values of honesty, responsibility, and compassion, but she is committed to serving every family in Celina ISD, regardless of background or beliefs. Her focus is on shared values—respect, hard work, and doing what’s right for kids.
